I found your blog by searching for knitting terms in Portuguese. I see in your sidebar that you read English knitting blogs, so I hope you can help me out! I'm moving to Rio in the fall, and am wondering about knitting shops in Brazil. Is it easy to get yarn? I've found a few other Brazilian knitting blogs, but, not speaking Portuguese, am having a hard time finding information.
Obrigada pela visita...quanto à receita da bolsa ( e outras receitas) logo, logo vou diponibilizar por aqui, mas antes disso preciso tomar algumas precauções, para não ter problemas com direitos autorais. Beijocas, Claudia
I live in Sao Paulo that is a bit to the south from Rio and consewquently a little colder. So, due to this, here in Sao Paulo is easier to find knitting shops - in fact there are many and if you drop by Sao Paulo, just let me know and I´ll show you all of them! In Rio, I believe you may find some shops downtown... but remember this is a tropical country (15C average during the winter)and it won´t be easy to find the quality and variety of yarn you are used to (by the way, where are you from?). 100% wool is almost inexistent! There are many options 100% acrilyc, some mixed wool and acrilyc, some cotton and it is all! My advise: bring your stash!!
Thanks, Claudia. I'm from Seattle, WA, so I'm used to cool, rainy winters. I've been stocking up on the cotton yarn to bring with me to Rio, but I'm glad to hear that there are at least a few shops there. I'm sure we'll be in Sao Paulo from time to time, so maybe I'll get to see your yarn shops then. --Lorraine
